Her book Chicken Soup, for the Preteen Soul & the 7th Heaven episode, Nobody Endures But Change also featured her recollections of the incident. Mitchell's close friend Angela, who was 15 years old at the time of her death in an accident with an automobile was also a writer about the incident. Mitchell was deeply affected by the loss of her friend and wrote the song Angel for Angela on her debut album.
